We are now looking for a Product Design Manager that can solve this problem, and through scientific research, user experience and a design mastermind help us change the world of hiring.
Alva Labs offers a SaaS solution that is helping global companies grow their team in a scientific way. We have created a unique candidate assessment platform that helps companies build their organizations with the right people in the right place. By combining state-of-the-art psychometrics, data science, and an obsession with candidate experience, it provides the needed tool for data-driven talent acquisition.
We are growing 2-3x per year and are in the exciting phase to launch Alva in new markets. Currently, we are focusing a lot on making product lead growth and international expansion into new markets. Super exciting, right?
As our first Product Design Manager at Alva, you will be directly managing a small - but experienced - team of three designers, and be involved in hiring and team processes. You will enable your team to define impactful roadmaps for their product areas and foster a product culture that prides itself on moving the needle for the company's strategy.
You will report to the Head of Product, and as this is a new position for us, you will have room to shape the role yourself as well as deciding on the future of your team.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Make the design- and product team more efficient and collaborate more effectively.
Help designers grow their skills, expertise, knowledge, and understanding of how they can level up.
Create a vision for compelling user experience, and considers long-term changes in design patterns, tooling and workflows.
Deliver superior design while inspiring, teaching, and speeding up others. Advocates for and models great quality with proactive actions, and tackles difficult and subtle system issues.
Design is not just a part of Alva, but baked into every step of the way we build our products and services. At Alva, product designers bridge science and engineering into elegant solutions and easy-to-use products. For us, designers are able to identify the right problems, evaluate and come up with the right solutions and articulate ways to build the right thing.
Who are you
To succeed in this role, you some experience in leading other designers and believe in a coaching leadership style. Other qualifications include:
An expert at understanding the team’s motivations and drives, and adapting communication and priorities to fit them.
Maintains good relationships with all key stakeholders even when challenging.
Experience in shipping products and know how to take design decisions considering the scope. You can define specifications and expected behaviors and fine-tune them until launch.
Strong communication skills, enjoy working in an organized way and have the ability to collaborate and work with others.
Our organizational language at Alva is English. Swedish is not a requirement for this position.
