Chief Product Officer to Alva Labs
Think back to the day you graduated. The feeling of accomplishment, the newly ironed dress or shirt you were wearing, the excitement of soon leaving an era and entering a new one. Think back to the hugs and waves of laughter between you and your classmates. And now to the million-dollar question: would you hire all your classmates? On paper, you were all equal. You had the same education, and therefore the same knowledge. But in reality?
This is a problem that all recruiters and hiring managers face every day; to try to distinguish a great hire amongst a pile of CVs that are often fairly similar. This results in more than 40% of hires being deemed as failures (!), people with foreign backgrounds having a harder time getting into the job market, and candidates struggling to show who they truly are.
The good part? Alva Labs has a solution to this problem! We are now on the lookout for our first-ever CPO to join the team and continue solving how companies hire.
If one should summarise what we as a company are doing, it could be something like this:
Alva Labs is a Stockholm-based SaaS company that offers a solution to help global companies grow their team in a scientific way. Combining state-of-the-art psychometrics, data science, and an obsession with candidate experience, it provides the needed tool for data-driven talent acquisition. Alva also serves candidates by allowing them to discover what job opportunities are the best matches, given each candidate’s unique background, personality and ability. In fancy words: Alva is a SaaS-enabled talent marketplace, matching companies, and candidates.
We have been growing 2-3x per year (in terms of people, revenue, users, and customers) and are in the exciting phase to launch our product in new markets. The core of everything we do is our product. We have come a long way and have happy users - both candidates and customers - but we are only getting started. It is now time to take the next big steps in becoming what we want to become; the product that can be the game-changer in company building around the world.
This role will be one of the most essential ones at our company. As CPO at Alva, we expect you to be able to translate inputs from customers, founders, management team, colleagues, and competitors into a product strategy that is closely connected to Alva’s overall mission and vision. This goes for prioritizing and taking part in the daily work, as well as defining long-term bets. This is a strategic role with the ambition to raise the bar on how we do things product-wise.
Besides being well-versed in the field of product leadership, we also find it crucial to be a people-person that can continue to build and develop our fantastic product- and design teams.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Own the product plan and product strategy.
Convert the long-term bets into a clear roadmap.
Develop ways of working together with peers and ensure these are clear for everyone.
Lead a great team of designers and product managers.
Lead the squads to ensure efficient work and collaboration across departments.
Be an active member of Alva’s management team.
We practice what we preach and will not get stuck on the number of years of experience or anything else that doesn’t matter. What we do care about is that you have;
Solid experience in leading a growing product organization, preferably a SaaS company or marketplace.
Extensive experience in working with product strategy and product planning.
Ability to connect the goal we are heading for with the position we are in today through a clearly defined product plan.
Great people skills, as you will be leading a team of product managers and designers and interacting with a lot of internal and external stakeholders.
An entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent communication skills in English. Swedish is not a requirement.

We are currently a team of ~75 people, representing 18 different nationalities and a wide selection of professional backgrounds. We currently work in a hybrid approach, so working from home or at the office is your choice. Our office is located in central Stockholm, but we have employees all over Europe.
